Meet the Doctors
Kathleen E. Poleon, DDS
Dr. Kathleen Poleon graduated from the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2003 after completing undergraduate and graduate degrees at SUNY Geneseo, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Rochester. Her background in psychology, human resource development, and biology allows her to blend clinical excellence with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
She completed a General Practice Residency at Millard Fillmore Gates and Buffalo General Hospitals and later served as an attending dentist, mentoring newly graduated dentists. Dr. Poleon stays current through continuing education and is a member of the ADA, NYS Dental Association, Seventh District Dental Society, and the Monroe County Dental Society.
A self-described lifelong dental-phobe, Dr. Poleon is especially attuned to anxious patients and is dedicated to making each visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. We offer nitrous oxide, in-operatory video, and headphones to help patients relax. She has worked closely with Mary since arriving in Newark over 12 years ago—Mary is a tremendous comfort to patients, and one they hope never retires.Outside the office, Dr. Poleon enjoys spending time with her husband and their three kids, along with hiking, gardening, spending time in Muskoka, Canada, and travelling to Hawaii.
Thomas J. Miller, DDS
Dr. Thomas Miller earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Rochester and graduated from the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2005. He completed his General Practice Residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital and practiced in Buffalo before working at his own practice in Brighton from 2007 to 2021.
Dr. Miller joined the Newark practice in 2021 and brings extensive experience and a patient-focused approach to care. He is a member of the ADA, NYS Dental Association, Seventh District Dental Society, and the Monroe County Dental Society and regularly participates in continuing education.
In his free time, Dr. Miller enjoys hiking, gardening, and outdoor activities with his wife, their three children, and their two Goldendoodles, Skoka and Maui.
Marc Feldman, DDS
Dr. Marc Feldman graduated from the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1997. He completed his residency at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY in 1998. Dr. Feldman previously worked in his own Penfield practice from 1998-2023.
Dr. Feldman enjoys spending time with his adult children, grandchildren and two dogs. In his spare time he likes woodworking and forging.
Meet the Front Office Administration
Rose has been in the dental field for over 20 years. As the Office Manager, she brings extensive experience in practice operations, patient coordination, and team leadership. Rose is dedicated to creating an efficient and welcoming environment for both patients and staff. Outside of work, she is married and has two grown children and three grandchildren. Rose enjoys taking walks by the lake, vacationing with friends, attending Buffalo Bills games and visiting her grandchildren in Florida.
Joan has worked in our office for 18 years at both the front desk and as a dental assistant. When not at work, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends, especially her 2 granddaughters. Joan lives between Newark and Sodus with her husband, Kevin.
Debbie is our front desk/treatment coordinator. She grew up in the area and attended Bryant & Stratton College for medical coding and medical terminology and Auburn College for computers. Debbie enjoys working with patients and staff in our office. She has been in the dental profession for 18 years!
Karen
Karen graduated from Nazareth College with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. She has many years of experience working in the dental field as a dental assistant, receptionist and office manager. Karen used to work for Dr. Miller at his old office! She lives in Farmington with her husband and has a son and 2 daughters along with 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. With any spare time she has, she likes to travel to visit her children and grandchildren, who all live out of state.
Meet the Hygienists
Renee graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from SUNY Brockport and completed her dental hygiene degree at Monroe Community College. Renee has over 20 years of experience as a dental hygienist and does a wonderful job helping our patients improve and maintain their oral health. Renee and her husband, Jason, live in Newark and have 2 children. Renee enjoys skiing, gardening and spending time outdoors.
Lynn has been a registered dental hygienist for 19 years and has worked at this office for 18 of them. She graduated with honors in 2007 from Monroe Community College’s dental hygiene program. Lynn lives in Newark with her husband Dana and has 3 daughters and 2 grandsons. She enjoys camping in the Adirondacks, horseback riding, the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loves being able to work in her hometown!
Sue was a Certified Dental Assistant before later returning to school for dental hygiene. She has worked in our office as a dental hygienist for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her granddaughter.
Allison has been a registered dental hygienist for 32 years. She and her husband reside in Ontario County with their dog Phoebe. Allison enjoys meeting patients from all backgrounds and dental experiences. In her downtime, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family, including her 3 grown children.
Meet the Assistants
Mary has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over 50 years and we are happy to say that all of those years have been spent at our office! Mary is an incredibly talented artist and we are proud to have some of her work decorating our office. The beautiful stained-glass pieces in our operatories, waiting area and reception desk area are all done by Mary! She enjoys creating stained glass pieces and is an avid reader. Mary lives in Palmyra with her two cats Ziggy and Pansy.
Christi has been a dental assistant for a total of 15 years – 9 of those years have been here at Newark Family Dental. During her time as an assistant, she has taken several courses and seminars to further her knowledge in dental assisting and patient care. Christi is also a former middle school English teacher and a graduate of SUNY Fredonia. In her spare time, Christi enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeffrey, and their 3 boys. She also likes baking, sewing, working out and running.
Jennifer
Jennifer has been a dental assistant for over 15 years. She enjoys working at Newark Family Dental and helping patients with their dental needs.
